Hello Everybody,

Jane Suddendorf, whose admirable motivation behind Gallery 224 have give to the community and to local emerging and established artists an incredible experience with her past curated show "Birds of a Different Feather" is calling all artists for an upcoming show under the theme "Food for Thought- Tastes and Text". This show is not about food literally ( I had to ask since my ESL sometimes betrays me), but about what fulfills you as a person. The whole info about it as follows_

The Venue Gallery 224 is a beautiful gallery space overlooking the Port Washington marina. Shows are organized around a common theme, representing a wide range of artistic approaches and a diverse use of art media.

Exhibition Concept 

Artists are invited to submit original artwork inspired by the theme Food for Thought –Tastes and Text. All types of art media and interpretations are welcome. We are looking for imagery rich in tastes or with a strong narrative quality. Text may be integrated into the artwork or accompany the artwork, or be implied by imagery alone. Calligraphy pieces are also welcome. Artist entry fee covers promotional costs, invitations, and opening reception. The artist receives 100% from any sale of artwork with no gallery fee. Gallery 224 is a nonprofit venture to promote art and professional and emerging artists.

Exhibition Schedule

Saturday, November 12th – Deadline for submitting digital images online at gallery224@gmail.com please include dimensions of your work with your online submissions.

Monday, November 14th – Notification of acceptance

Thursday, November 17th 4:00-7:00 and Saturday, November 19th 8:00-10:00 – Delivery of accepted art work to the gallery at 224 East Main (next to the Dockside Deli) Port Washington. The $25 entry fee is due at this time.

Saturday, December 3rd 4:00-8:00 pm – Opening Reception

Sunday, January 29th – Last day to view show

Thursday, February 2nd 4:00-7:00 and Saturday, February 4th 8:00-10:00 – Any unsold artwork must be picked up on these dates. Gallery will not be responsible for any work left after pick up dates.

Insurance/ Liability By submission of any work, the artist agrees to abide by the exhibition rules and waives any and all claims for loss or damage against Gallery 224 or any individuals or entities associated with the exhibit. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
