Photo, Photo and more Photos


This Friday will be the opening of the PHOTOGRAPHY show at Gallery 224. Once more, the gallery promise and will deliver. I am happy this time to be again sharing "wall space" with such a variety of artists in a great place as it is GALLERY 224.

The photographers and artists using photography this time are_ Bruce Ambuel, Martha Coaty, John Feeney, Marcia Getto, Julian Kegel, Dan Laurence, Maria Liesegang, Cynthia Lorenz, Dale Van Minsel, Martin Morante, Hal Rammel, Vicki Reed, Sara Risley, Suzanne Rose, Mark Stall and Tom Uttech. 

Stop by for the opening reception and if you cannot, the show will be up until September.

Also, I am really glad to share here (and will do too at the opening) the launching of





Starting this Summer, the WJ Niederkorn Library, in partnership with Gallery 224 in Port Washington, will be playing a variety of documentary films featuring certain artists, coinciding with different exhibits on display at the gallery. The screenings of these films will allow the public an open forum for artistic enrichment and reflection concerning the films and the items on display in the gallery exhibits. The films will start at 6 pm, with time after for discussion. Three renowned photographers will be presented in the summer months to coincide with the Gallery’s Photography exhibit, opening Friday, July 12th, 2013, and running through Sunday, September 1st, 2013. 

Wednesday, July 17th “What Remains: The Life and Work of Sally Mann,” 2008. 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Wednesday, August 21st “Henry Cartier Bresson: The Impassioned Eye,” 2006. 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Wednesday, September 18th “William Eggleston: In the Real World,” 2005. 6 p.m.-8p.m.
