The Magic of Light

Finally I got around to do Lumen Prints following some tips given to me by great artist and friend Vicki Reed.

Using paper from a very well expired box of Kodak Polycontrast IIIC paper, I made this first attempt in order to see what would come out of it. This is what we can really call photography even not using a photo camera, as this print was made simply by placing objects (in this case a feather and 3 branches of flowers from our garden) on top of the paper and pressed with glass, being exposed for an hour on the sun light.

Not bad for the first time. Now, below what you see its the same lumen print translated into a positive by treating it like you will with a paper negative. This (the inversion) was done digitally as you cannot do it the regular way (passing light through it) because the Kodak paper has its name stamped all over on the back, which will be printed on the positive. Still, much more to think about after this result.
