Two weeks did go flying but still were enough time to absorb a lot of what was found along the path (or pathS) Dawn and I did walk through. Added to the cities of Pisa, Genova, Montreux and Zurich, we added short daytrips to Lucca and the Cinque Terre region on Italy and Vevey, Gruyère and Interlaken on Switzerland. A LOT of stories and pictures, which I will organize on digital web albums eventually so as for now I leave you with these four pics below for the four main cities in which we did woke up, which are my favorites and also because they reflect somehow my general impression of the places themselves.

Dos semanas se fueron volando pero igualmente fueron tiempo suficiente como para absorber mucho de lo que se encontró en el camino ( o en los caminoS) que Dawn y yo caminamos. Sumado a las ciudades de Pisa, Genova, Montreux y Zurich, sumamos viajes cortos por horas o por el día a Lucca y la región de Cinque Terre en Italia y Vevey, Gruyère e Interlaken en Suiza. MUCHAS historias y fotos, las cuales espero organizar eventualmente en albumes digitales así que por ahora dejo estas cuatro fotos mas abajo, que pertencen a las cuatro ciudades donde amanecimos y que son mis favoritas ya que reflejan de cierta manera mi impresión general de dichos lugares.

Pisa, Italy
City of tourism, city of college, but over all a city with a lot of history. Once you pass the "avalanches" of 1 second picture taking people, you find a city rich on art, history and bohemian feeling.

Una ciudad de turismo, ciudad universitaria, pero por sobre todo una ciudad con mucha historia. Una vez que uno pasa las "avalanchas" de gente que toma fotos en un segundo, uno se encuentra con una ciudad riquísima en arte, historia y cargada de bohemia.

Montreux, Switzerland.
This is the view from the Room #65 at the Montreux Palace, hotel in which Dawn and I stayed. This is the room in which Vladimir Nabokov spent the last years of his life until his death on 1977. Obviously we did stayed on another room but still managed to visit this one which still preserves the original decoration of that time and except for few minot changes ( a new TV and phone) still remain the same way Nabokov left it. Montreux has been a window of inspiration to many, MANY artists and intellectuals that have found in this city a place of a beauty without comparison.

Esta es la vista desde la Habitación #65 en el Montreux Palace, hotel en el cuál Dawn y yo nos quedamos. Esta es la habitación en la cuál Vladimir Nabokov permaneció los últimos años de su vida hasta su muerte en 1977. Obviamente nosotros no nos quedamos en la misma pero si nos la arreglamos para poder entrar a la misma y poder observar que todavía preserva la decoración original de la época y a pesar de unos cambios menores ( un televisor y teléfono nuevo) sigue de la misma manera en la cuál Nabokov la dejó. Montreux ha sido una ventana de inspiración para muchos, MUCHOS artistas e intelectuales que han encontrado en esta ciudad un lugar con una belleza sin comparación.

Zürich, Switzerland.
Massive, old, rich in history of its past, hermetic, but at the same time easy to grab, fresh, modern and welcoming, that is how I simply could described Zürich. I did enjoy this city a LOT, specially being able to visit the KuntzHaus, the Haus Konstruktiv and the Museum für Gestaltung where we were able to see so much art at the same time that we "got lost intentionally" through long walks around the city.

Masiva, vieja, rica en la historia de su pasado, hermética, pero a la vez fácil de agarrar, fresca, moderna y accesible, es como describiría simplemente a Zürich. Disfruté esta ciudad MUCHO, especialmente al poder visitar el KuntzHaus (Museo de Arte), el Haus Konstruktiv ( Museo de Arte Contemporáneo) y el Museum für Gestaltung ( Museo y Escuela de Diseño) donde pudimos ver muchísimo arte al mismo tiempo que "perdiéndonos a propósito" en largas caminatas por la ciudad.
And that´s it for now but I will be posting some more as I get myself organized and on track again.
